An old vines beauty offering rich black cherries and berries, laced with wild flowers, anise, a tease of game and fine minerality. A more powerful wine than the Gevrey village – palate penetrating and long – promising superb complexity if given time to blossom and evolve. You could carafe to drink now, but you would be cheating yourself of the complexity to come with some time in bottle. At minimum I would give it a few years, but this will easily evolve over 8 – 10 years.
