Our Shipping Information
You must be 21 years of age to purchase wine, pick up wine or receive wine that has been shipped or delivered. An adult signature is required for all shipments and deliveries.
By placing an order, the Buyer takes ownership of the wine and assumes full responsibility for all legal requirements with regard to the purchase and shipment of same. The Burgundy Wine Company will engage a Shipper on the Buyer's behalf, but bears no responsibility for any legal requirements regarding the purchase and shipment of alcohol to any state.
It is also the Buyer's responsibility to ensure someone 21 years, or older, is available to receive and sign for wines when they arrive.
We go to great lengths to purchase our wines from the most reliable sources, and store them in our temperature controlled cellars until shipping/delivering them to you. We exercise the same care and caution when arranging shipments. We cannot guarantee weather patterns, handling conditions by the Shipper or timing, therefore we are very cautious with regard to shipping "windows". Generally speaking, there are two key shipping periods - early Spring and Autumn. If you chose to ship, against our advice, during adverse weather conditions (heat or extreme cold), you do so at your own risk.
We are not responsible for loss or damage once the wine leaves our premises, but provide insurance against breakage on all shipments at a fee of 1%. If you don't wish to take insurance, please advise us and we will remove the charges and ship without that coverage.
While we will hold client orders, at no charge, between shipping seasons - we are not a storage facility and are not responsibile for wines held beyond an active shipping period.
