With multiple owners in most every one of its thousand odd vineyards, in the past the search for the perfect Burgundy more often led to frustration than elation. So, in 1988 we set out to find the very best, most committed producers in each of Burgundy's appellations -- from Marsannay to Musigny to Maranges.

Although, its popularity has flourished in the years since, we found a similar challenge in the Rhone Valley. A smattering of tiny producers spread among its many rustic villages led us to search for the finest examples made from then lesser-known grapes such as Grenache, Syrah and Viognier.

In the early 90's, our reputation already firmly established, we began to take notice of the increasing progress in the wines of Oregon. We visited every winery, meeting the winemakers and discussing their methods. Convinced by the wine's quality, we completed our unique and exclusive portfolio of wines with those of Oregon.
